The Gazella and the Lion

David Langerfeld Herb Caen writes, in the San Francisco Chronicle, "every morning in Africa , a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you're a lion or a gazelle; when the sun comes up, you'd better be running."When we awaken each morning, we must realize that "The devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8) In Psalm 5, we read that David came to God early in the morning and asked for his protection and help. We also need to pay attention to the vital importance of prayer. "The Secret" By Bishop Ralph Cushman I met God in the morning When the day was at its best, And His Presence came like sunrise, Like a glory in my breast. All day long the Presence lingered, All day long He stayed with me, And we sailed in perfect calmness O...

Muslims

Now, all the muslims who are making a lot o noise about the pope and what he said are only proving him right! Either they are jobless and have enough time to make these problems.......or it appears to be true that they are not human enough to understand that human beings make mistakes... and sometimes very grave ones...and it is noble and sort of superior to be forgiving...forgiving is a character of God ...and moreover how can we ask God to forgive us if we do not forgive others who do us wrong? I think these thoughts are useful especially as we enter into the period of Ramadan...which is supposed to be seeking God's mercy. Don't you think so?

Things are not what they seem to be!!!

Imagine you are at an Airport. While you're waiting for your flight, you notice a kiosk selling cookies. You buy a box, put them in your traveling bag and then you patiently search for an available seat so you can sit down and enjoy your cookies. Finally, you find a seat next to a gentleman. You reach down into your traveling bag and pull out your box of cookies. As you do so, you notice that the gentleman starts watching you intensely. He stares as you open the box and his eyes follow your hand as you pick up the cookie and bring it to your mouth. Just then he reaches over and takes one of your cookies from the box, and eats it! You're more than a little surprised at this. Actually, you're at a loss for words. Not only does he take one cookie, but also he alternates with you. For every one cookie you take, he takes one. Now, what's your immediate impression of this guy? Crazy? Greedy? He's got some nerve? Can you imagine the words you might use to describe this man ...

Thought for the day

What if you gave someone a gift, and they neglected to thank you for it—would you be likely to give them another? Life is the same way. In order to attract more of the blessings that life has to offer, you must truly appreciate what you already have .-Ralph Marston

Democracy in the Middle East - A Blessing

Democracy would be a blessing to the middle east because this is an area dominated by Islamic religious constraints. Although Islam teaches many good things like every other religion, it does not allow freedom to its followers. But on the contrary we read in the Bible - Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty. God does not force Himself on anyone. In the days of Moses, when God gave His commandments to the people of Israel, Moses said - Deuteronomy 30:19 This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. God always gives us a choice. He has given us a free will to choose. He is also not a God of confusion. He makes things clear for us to understand. Anything by force cannot be from God the creator of heaven and earth the only one.

Food for thought

God, grant me the Serenity : to Accept the people I cannot change, the Courage to change the one I can, and the Wisdom to know it's me!!! ----------------------------------------------------------------- - God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts. - There is no key to happiness. The door is always open. - Silence is often misinterpreted but never misquoted. - Do the math. Count your blessings. - Faith is the ability to not panic. - Laugh every day, it's like inner jogging. - If you worry, you didn't pray. If you pray, don't worry. - As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home everyday. - Blessed are the flexible for they shall not be bent out of shape. - The most important things in your house are the people. - He who dies with the most toys is still dead. - A grudge is a heavy thing to carry. - When we get tangled up in our problems, be still so God can untangle the mess.

Attitude

This may shock you, but I believe the single most significant decision I can make on a day-to-day basis is my choice of attitude. It is more important than my past, my education, my bankroll, my successes or failures, fame or pain, what other people think of me or say about me, my circumstances, or my position. Attitude is that `single string' that keeps me going or cripples my progress. It alone fuels my fire or assaults my hope. When my attitudes are right, there's no barrier too high, no valley too deep, no dream too extreme, no challenge too great for me. - Charles R. Swindoll

A Valentine's Day Prayer

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” – I CORINTHIANS 13:4-7 NIV Lord,Because love is patient…Help me to be slow to judge, but quick to listen. Hesitant to criticize, but eager to encourage, remembering your endless patience with me. Because love is kind… Help my words to be gentle and my actions to be thoughtful. Remind me to smile and to say “Please” and “Thank You” because those little things still mean so much. Because love does not envy or boast, and it is not proud… Help me have a heart that is humble and sees the good in others. May I celebrate and appreciate all that I have and all that I am, as well as doing the same for those around me. Because love is not rude or self-seeking… Help me to speak words that are ...

Danish newspaper

The Danish newspaper has provoked the muslim world by hurting them on matters they hold of greatest value even to the point of death. No one but the Danish government is responsible to solve such an issue, which has caused global problems. If it is the christian community that has been responsible for such an atrocity, then I would boldly say that they are not christians....let them not call themselves christians!!! Christ does not hurt people neither do true Christians. Jesus Christ came to heal the broken hearted and not to condemn but to forgive. Let not anyone who does not know christian values call themselves christians! I would prefer that this newspaper be blacklisted not to function anymore and people responsible to be taken to task and taught how to live in a world which has become very very small due to modern developments.

FIVE WAYS GOD USES PROBLEMS

By The Potter's Hand's Ministries The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you - depending on how you respond to them. Unfortunately, most people fail to see how God wants to use problems for good in their lives. They react foolishly and resent their problems rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring. Here are five ways God wants to use the problems in your life: 1. God uses problems to DIRECT you. Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and motivate us to change. Is God trying to get your attention? "Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways." Proverbs 20:30 2. God uses problems to INSPECT you. People are like tea bags...if you want to know what's inside them, just drop them into hot water! Has God tested your faith with a problem? What do problems reveal about you? "When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, beca...
IT'S A NEW BEGINNING ... TIME TO ... CHOOSE THE POSSIBILITIES Choices Some people sit – some people try; Some people laugh – some people cry; Some people will – some people won’t; Some people do – some people don’t. Some people believe and develop a plan; Some people doubt – never think that they can; Some people face hurdles and give it their best; Some people back down when faced with a test. Some people complain of their miserable lot; Some people are thankful for all that they’ve got; And when it’s all over — when it comes to an end — Some people lose out and some people win. We all have a choice — we all have a say; We are spectators in life or we get in and play; Whichever we choose — how we handle life’s game; The choices are ours — no one else is to blame. Possibilities When your dreams start to seem so impossible, When roadblocks are all you can see — Look beyond all the problems that face you And focus on POSSIBILITIES. Don’t limit your thoughts to the present Or solutio...
