The preparation for the season, celebrating the birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, is in full swing.

At this time, I was thinking of the following verse:
2 Corinthians 9:15  Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!

What is this gift?  Do you agree with me that it is Jesus Christ His only begotten Son?  Can we pause for a moment and thank God our Father for this indescribable gift? 

2Peter 1:3 New Living Translation
By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.

We read here that all that is needed for living a godly life is already given to us in Christ Jesus.  How do we access this providence?  By coming to know Him!

Can we understand that God does not provide when we pray, as an answer to our prayer?  God our Father has already given everything, we need in Jesus Christ the one and only Son of God given to us by the Father.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

As we celebrate this great indescribable gift from God our Father, let us meditate on what Jesus Christ means to us.

Jesus Christ means everything to us!!

May the special blessings of this season and the love of God minister to each one of us in this special time of the year.

The book is titled "The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck and is a true story of a farmer in China before the revolution. On God's anvil. Perhaps you've been there. Melted down. Formless. Undone. Placed on the anvil for ... reshaping? I know. I've been on it. It's rough. It's a spiritual slump, a famine. The fire goes out. Although the fire may flame for a moment, it soon disappears. We drift downward. Downward into the foggy valley of question, the misty lowland of discouragement. Motivation wanes. Defintions of Love

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year olds. "What does love mean?" The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. 1.
